High School Boys Soccer
from Coach Hagge
The regular season for the LSA Varsity Boys Soccer Team in the final stages. This past week the team traveled to HBU to take on Second Baptist on Monday. The team came out quick and tallied three goals in the first half. After halftime the team kept up the same quickness and determination finishing off the Eagles 5-1. Scoring for the Pioneers were Eli Garrabrant, Jace Windom, and Darryl Scheer. Assists were contributed by Noah Roberts, Jace Windom, Eli Garrabrant, and Noah Merrill. Braden Leimkuehler added a couple saves for the win in goal. At the end of the week LSA traveled up north to take on Woodlands Christian. South continued the quick starts and raced out to a 2-0 lead at the half. The Warriors made things interesting in the second half getting a goal late into the half. The Pioneers tightened up defensively to preserve the 2-1 victory. Goals were scored from Noah Roberts and an own goal from Woodlands Christian. Noah Merrill and Jace Windom assisted the goals. With the win LSA secured the number one seed for playoffs and winning their second consecutive district championship. LSA is now 17-5 overall and 12-0 in district play. South will finish district play on Tuesday 2/9 at Cristo Rey. Playoffs will begin for LSA on Tuesday 2/16 with a home game. Let’s fill the stands and cheer on the Pioneers to a victory!

High School Boys JV Basketball
from Coach Schroeder
Last week the JV Boys basketball team wound up their season with probably their two best games. On Tuesday, the Pioneers visited Ft. Bend, a team we lost to by 17 in January. The boys played very well and created the high-scoring game we like, unfortunately we lost 82-74. Levi Lewis led us in scoring with 20 points. Keith Armwood, Thomas Kuhlow, and Matthew Rhodes chipped in with 11, 11, and 10 points each. Jonah Weber had a season high 10 steals!

On Friday, the boys hosted Woodlands Christian, another team that beat us by 15 the first time. Thomas Kuhlow hit a 3 pointer with 5 seconds remaining to get our first lead of the game. Unfortunately, WCA scored a bucket of their own at the buzzer to win 61-60. Kuhlow had led with 11 points, while Rhodes had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
