High School Boys Soccer
from Coach Hagge
The boys soccer team ended its season with a 1-3 loss to eventual state champion San Antonio TMI. During the game LSA frustrated the states leading goal scorer limiting his opportunities to score. The game was nearly scoreless through the first 40 minutes with a goal for TMI right before the half taking a 1-0 lead. It was the same high-pressure defense that continued to wear on TMI. LSA was able to get on the board in the second half with a corner kick crossed in by Jace Windom for a header from Darryl Scheer. Even though the team’s season ended in the Final Four it was another successful year for the Pioneer soccer program. For the year the team went 20-5 winning the LSA Invitational, winning Districts, winning the Regional Championship, and playing in the State Final Four. The team was lead in goals by Eli Garrabrant with 23 and Jace Windom with 19. Leading the team in assists was Eli Garrabrant with 14 and Jace Windom with 12. Defensively the team was led by center back Darryl Scheer and in goal Braden Leimkuehler had 105 saves and 11 shutouts. Congrats on a great season Pioneers!

The Pioneers had a tough shooting night while it was the total opposite for the opponents. The team battled extremely hard but it just wasn't the night for the Pioneers. The Pioneers were led in scoring by Wyatt Maher with 14 points, Paul Lindberg with 12 points, Braeden Collins with 11 points and Justin Rogers with 10 points. The Pioneers graduate 5 phenomenal seniors in Wyatt Maher, Justin Rogers, Lane Whitney, Kam Byrd, and Braeden Collins. We thank these Seniors for their dedication to the LSA Basketball program. I am excited to see what the future has in store for these men.
